Printing using the Online (Web) Printing Service (no drivers needed)

  1. Go to the Online Printing Service web page at http://publicprint.lib.uwaterloo.ca/cps/ .

  2. Click on Print Icon under the blue shaded area.

  3. Enter a Job Identifier and clickImage of Continue button. The job identifier is used to uniquely identify your print jobs at the print release stations. Use an identifier complex enough to not be inadvertently used by another patron.

  4. Select either ‘uwaterloo-libraries-colour’ or ‘uwaterloo-libraries-B/W’ for colour or black and white printing respectively.

  5. Now you can either browse to find a file or enter the URL of the web page that you wish to print.  If you are having difficulties printing, try saving the document to your hard drive first. You can also specify the number of copies and range of pages that you want to print.

  6. Click Submit Icon once you are ready to print.

  7. Click Continue Icon . The online printing service only allows single sided printing.

  8. A job status window will appear. Please be patient while waiting for approval of your print job. Selecting a hyperlink on the page prior to to the completion of your job may prevent it from completing.

  9. Once your job is approved, click on 'Submit Job to Printer' to print. Please be patient while submitting your job.

  10. Once you see that the job is complete you can release your print job at printers in the Davis or Porter Library using the Job Identifier in Step 3. You may log out or print another job.
