All Libraries are in the midst of a rapidly changing shift in how access to information is provided. In the past year, the TUG Libraries have made dramatic gains in the number of electronic journals.

As participants in CNSLP (the Canadian National Site Licence Project) (see Ejournals News) TUG Libraries have gained full text access to primarily scientific journals published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (23 journals), American Chemical Society (30 journals), Academic IDEAL (175 journals), Institute of Physics (33 journals), and Springer (LINK) (408 journals). There was no change to the number of titles TUG already had access to with IOP and IDEAL, but there is new access or increased access with the remaining resources.

TUG Libraries work within budget constraints and publishers pricing models to determine how best to provide access to journals. As we move further into a mixed environment of print and online resources, we are evaluating print., print and online, or online only alternatives. When possible, we register for access to full-text online journals that come with the print subscriptions that we currently subscribe to. Please note that when the electronic version is tied to a current print subscription, once a library no longer subscribes to the print then electronic access is only available up to the time of print cancellation.

Back Issues of full-text journals: Access to back issues of full-text journals varies with when a publisher started to digitalize journal articles. Access to electronic journals is a fairly new option and in many instances electronic copies are not available prior to the mid 1990's. The exceptions are titles found in JSTOR, which is an archival database for humanities and social science journals.

The TUG libraries are continually assessing their access to full-text journals and we continue to welcome suggestions and requests for full-text access. In this regard please contact your institutional ejournal representative.
