Improve Search Engine
Responses to the question: "What would you like to see added or changed on the Electronic Journals pages?"
Just typing in the first letters of the journal name instead of the area, first letter, etc.
first and second word first letter search. I.e., Journal of Neuroscience.
title search as well as phrase search; a clear button beside the submit button
A more sophistecated search techniques.
More user friendly search on Journals
Search by keyword - microbiology or chemistry
Easier searching
Just typing in the first letters of the journal name instead of the area, first letter, etc.
Search feature is a bit odd, since choosing a letter doesn't automatically start a search-by-letter unless you've also clicked another button.
As alternative to current entry point for scientific journals, provide complete list by title only. Often use this page knowing the name but can't get to it quickly
A "clear" button beside the "submit" button
A command that would let you fill in the first few letters of a title and it would pull up a list of potential matches. This would be a big help.
Allow for selection of more than one narrowing category. IE allow selection of both life sciences and those that befin with the letter J
Chance to put in subject, then keyword.
Have a "clear" button beside submit button - able to check titles faster
I would to see it look & function more like Ebsco Host. More access to sending the journal articles to your home computer.I have sourced while at school during the school day and come home and reviewed them. I don't want to spend time surfing at home. I have a printer at home and would like to save the money spent unnecessarily at the university
It would be useful to be able to find journal titles with partial titles because sometimes one doesn't know the name exactly. The list of journals by first letter is too long.
Not much. Great job but it would be perfect if I could customize the list - add/subtract titles.
Some of the problems I have are technical -- the java screens that pop up endlessly when I try to access from home, the systems refusal to show me more than one page of results (so I can't look at all of the journals starting with S… only the first 50!!) I guess it would be hard to be able to search the electronic journals for keywords (also by author) since they're on so many different servers, but that would be nice!
Worst search engine I have ever used, it is driving me batty!!!!
At the moment it is very difficult to even get results out of a search let alone find useful info. Electronic journals would be such a useful resourse and so full of potential to aid student research if only the system worked - which at the moment it doesn't very well
