Invitation to discuss UW Library's Information Services

Since August, the Information Services Review Team has been discussing library information services relating to teaching, learning and research at the University of Waterloo.  We have explored issues such as the impact of ever-changing information technology and resources, the opportunities for partnership and collaboration, the importance of marketing, promotion and assessment, and governance/organisational issues.

We are interested in your observations, concerns, proposals etc. about UW Library's information services and how library staff deliver them. We are organising discussion sessions around three main categories:

(1) Provision of information at library service points;
(2) Library instructional programs;
(3) the Liaison Librarian program and organisational structure.

Linda Teather will be one of the facilitators for these meetings.

The meeting dates, times and places are listed below.  Each session is expected to take from two to three hours. As space is limited, please email Nancy Tait (ntait@library.uwaterloo.ca) by Thursday, November 26 if you wish to participate. A notice will be sent to all confirmed participants. (Please note: there will be further opportunities for input.  As well,  if you wish to send comments to the Team or the Team facilitator separately or in confidence please feel free to do so).

Please read over the relevant information for each session which is available on the web (see the URLs below) and come prepared to discuss these issues. If you wish to delve more thoroughly into these areas, additional readings are available at the Porter Reserves Desk. They are listed in TRELLIS Course Reserves under instructor Haslett, M.

We are looking forward to these consultations and to receiving your input.
