Graduates of the University of Waterloo can use an Alumni Watcard to register with the Library for free. To register, pick-up your free Alumni Watcard and bring it to any Library Circulation Desk; staff will register your card for library use.
University of Waterloo alumni can visit this site for details on obtaining their Alumni Watcard: http://alumni.uwaterloo.ca/alumni/services/alumni_card.html
You may:
borrow up to twenty (20) regularly circulating materials from any of the TUG libraries for two weeks
renew those materials indefinitely as long as no one else has recalled them
return materials to any of the Ontario libraries who participate in OCUL's direct borrowing programme (see http://www.coppul.ca/rb/rbindex.html for a list of participating libraries)
request materials from the Annex and other TUG libraries
The UW Library offers a fee based Book and Document Delivery Service for alumni. This service has many aspects of an interlibrary loan/document delivery service. Please note that you may also use your local public library for interlibrary loan services.
Services that cannot be extended to alumni because of the teaching and research needs of our faculty and currently registered students, are:
borrowing of journals or magazines
borrowing of maps and aerial photographs
borrowing of items located in reserves
placing recalls of library material
The Library subscribes to many journals and other resources in electronic format. Access to most of these electronic resources is available to anyone using a public workstation in the Library. Out-of-library access to these resources is restricted by vendor licenses to currently registered students, faculty and staff of the University.
The Library also maintains an online reference shelf with links to numerous websites for which subscriptions are not necessary. Items in the collection marked with the symbol [RR] are restricted to UW campus use.
