Obtaining A Library Card

Your WatCard serves as your borrower ID card.

undergraduates & graduates - the bar-code on the front of your WatCard is automatically validated as a library card
faculty, post-doctoral fellows, & staff can obtain a WatCard by visiting the office and then can either bring it to a Library Circulation Desk for validation, or fill out the Faculty/Staff Self-Registration form
alumni can obtain a WatCard in one of these ways and have it validated at a Circulation Desk
distance education students - email your request for a card to the Centre for Extended Learning

All other borrowers should apply for a Library borrower's card at a Circulation Desk

You are responsible for materials borrowed on your card. If you wish to permit other persons to use your card to borrow material, you must provide them with your written authorization to be shown at the Circulation Desk. Should your card be lost or stolen, report it at once to a Circulation Desk. A replacement photo ID card can be obtained for a $20 fee from the WatCard Office in General Services Complex. Replacements for library-issued borrower cards may be obtained from the Circulation Desk in the Dana Porter Library or the Davis Centre Library for a $5 fee.

Change of Address

Students should update any change in address or email address on QUEST so that library notices will be correctly addressed. Fines may be incurred as a result of notices being sent to an incorrect address.

Borrowers who don't have access to QUEST may update their change of address at the Circulation Desk or by telephone.
