Renewing Library Materials

Renewals are possible for all circulating material except reserve materials, provided that a hold or recall request has not been placed by another user.

Books may be renewed repeatedly*. Periodicals from the stacks may be renewed only once. Periodicals from storage may be renewed repeatedly. University Map Library maps may be renewed once.

You may renew an item on-line from “your library account.”

Renewals may be made by telephone for bar-coded books on two-week loan and bar-coded periodicals. Materials on term loan may not be renewed by telephone.

Telephone renewals for books and periodicals may be made by calling extension 84600 or 888-4600 during the following hours:

Fall and Winter hours:

Spring and Summer hours and any other changes in hours and services will be announced in advance and posted at the entrance to the library. (Hours are only valid during the term. Between terms, service is available Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm only.)

There is a limit of 10 items per call.

To renew a map, call the University Map Library Circulation Desk (whenever the library is open) at 888-2795 from off campus, or ext. 32795 from on campus.

*UW borrowers can have no more than 2 renewals of a Musagetes book
