Use the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Service (Ill/DD) to request specific books and journal articles when they are not available at any of the TUG libraries or through direct borrowing at your local academic or public libraries.
Items not found in our Libray catalogue (i.e. articles, books, etc.) can be requested through an interlibrary loan interface called RACER. Through RACER, users may search a number of library catalogues simultaneously for books or journals, and submit requests for loan of a book or a copy of a journal article. The request form can be found at http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/ILL_DD/racer.html
Some parts of the Interlibrary loan form will be automatically filled in with patron and limited item information / details when a request is submitted as a result of a successful search - saving user keystrokes.
Please indicate that you are a student at a distance, studying online and include a full mailing address (street number, apartment number, postal code) in the comment section of the electronic request form.
The University of Waterloo Library absorbs the cost for most items we obtain. Our supply time is usually 2 weeks but our service is dependent upon other libraries and document suppliers and mail delivery of items from UW to you.
The University of Waterloo, Library also absorbs the cost of mailing photocopies and forwarding books by courier to your home address. Strict time lines imposed by lenders require that you return loaned material by the due date specified on our bookbinder. You may return the material in person to the University of Waterloo Porter or Davis Library Circulation desk or alternatively you may return materials by courier (at your expense) to University of Waterloo, ILL/DD Department (200 University Ave. W., Waterloo, Ontario N2L 3G1)
