Special Collections

Archives and manuscripts

For archives in this list that have been processed and described according to the Rules for Archival Description (RAD), a file-level finding aid is available for download as a PDF PDF

Special collections staff are working to re-format those descriptions completed before the development of RAD.  Finding aids will be added to the list below as they are completed.

Note: A finding aid is a description of the material in a collection or fonds, providing information about the context in which the materials were created and used. It includes a history of the creator; the dates, types, extent, and subjects of the materials; etc. A finding aid begins by describing the fonds as a whole and then moves to smaller groups like series and files.

Alphabetical list of collections

For collections of personal papers, look under the letter corresponding with the surname. For example, search under "F" for the Robert Forbes fonds.

For collections of institutional records, look under the letter corresponding with the name of the organization or institution. For example, search under "E" for the Electrohome fonds.

For other collections, look under the letter corresponding with the first letter or the title.
