Souvenir of Berlin, ca. 1914
Only one other copy of this small album is known to exist. Souvenir of Berlin is made up of a series of early twentieth century coloured postcards, reprinted in book form,
depicting various scenes around Berlin. It measures 14 x 21 cm.
The title page contains many interesting tidbits about Berlin which were typical of “boosterism” publications at that time. Among these “facts” is a tally of the number of manufacturing industries at that
time – 130 of them – as well as the proud declaration that Berlin had been declared a “city” in 1912 as a result of attaining population of 16,000 residents. Call number: F21582
