Indexes

Beilstein and SciFinder Scholar$
Search the Beilstein (organic compounds) and/or SciFinder Scholar databases to locate literature references for physical property data (melting points, boiling points, etc.).

Index to Physical, Chemical and Other Property Data
This is a comprehensive guide to electronic and print property data resources from Arizona State University Libraries. Check Primo to see if the UW Library has the print resources that are recommended.

ThermoDex
An index of selected thermodynamic and physical property resources from the University of Texas Libraries. Check Primo to see if the UW Library has the print resources that are recommended.

General Resources

CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics$
One of the most famous data resources used by chemists, physicists, and engineers.
See Also:
Tables Removed from the 71st thru the 79th Editions

The Merck Index$
Covers basic physical data of boiling and melting points and densities; some spectral and LogP data.

NIST Chemistry WebBook
A major collection of data compiled under NIST's Standard Reference Data Program. Includes thermochemical data for organic and small inorganic compounds, heat of reaction data, IR spectra, mass spectra, ion energetics data. Can be searched by name, formula, CAS registry number, molecular weight, etc.

PHYSPROP: Physical Properties Database
A large set of property data including melting point, boiling point, water solubility, octanol-water partition coefficient, vapour pressure, pKa, Henry's Law constant, etc. The free demonstration version can be searched by CAS number.

Journals

Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data$
Publishes experimental data on the physical, thermodynamic and transport properties of organic, inorganic and biochemical compounds; the correlation and prediction of properties; latest international standards on symbols, terminology, and units of measurement. Electronic access from 1956 to the present.

Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data$
The journal critically evaluates and presents standard reference data derived from the primary literature. A large variety of properties are indexed. Electronic access from 1999 to the present; print access in the Davis Centre Library from 1972 to 2001 (Q199 .J68).

Specialized Resources

IUPAC - NIST Solubility Database
Solubility constants.

NIST Critically Selected Stability Constants of Metal Complexes$
"Provides comprehensive coverage of interactions for aqueous systems of organic and inorganic ligands with protons and various metal ions." Based on the six-volume Critical Stability Constants by Martell and Smith.
