Policy 71 Student Discipline


Policy 71 addresses principles, offences, procedures, and penalties related to student misconduct, academic and non-academic. Authority to deal with matters for graduate students rests with the Graduate Associate Deans.  Highlights of this policy include:

  • a listing of the typical categories of academic and non-academic offences and the types of penalties which may be imposed, see also Guidelines for the Assessment of Penalties
  • an outline of the disciplinary procedure for i) the informal resolution by instructor and ii) the formal inquiry through the Associate Deans

Policy 72 Student Appeals


Policy 72 addresses the procedures students must follow if there has been a decision made regarding Policy 71 and academic misconduct.  Within 10 working days of receipt of decision, a student can appeal the finding, the penalty, or both. Highlights of this policy include:

  • a listing of the grounds for appeal
  • copies of the appeal forms
  • an outline of the appeals process

 

Policy 33 Ethical behaviour


Policy 33 -- addresses the general principles of ethical behaviour, the specific principles of human rights, violations and provides a list of primary on-campus resources for further information or advice.
