Welcome to the University of Waterloo Library

Picture of Mark Haslett, University LibrarianEach day over 16,000 visitors walk through our doors. As one of the busiest meeting points on campus, the Library is a campus hub and online resource that supports the learning, research, and teaching needs of the uWaterloo community.

In the fall of 2011 we initiated a strategic Library Review. Coinciding with the University’s Mid-Cycle Review of its Sixth Decade Plan, we are taking this opportunity to refocus our vision and to seize opportunities in support of the University’s strategic priorities.

Throughout the Library Review, we will build on the Library’s strengths, be forward-looking, and engage with staff, users, and key stakeholders.

I encourage you to read more about the Library Review and the Library's other current initiatives in our latest issue of the Library Update. I also invite you to contact me directly to share your feedback to help shape the Library's future.

“I would always come to the university on PD days or holidays and I’d often go into the Library. That’s one of my fondest memories. I was always a library hound. The idea that there was a place with thousands and thousands of books …was wonderful for me.” — Malcolm Gladwell, DLitt ’07 on his early visits to Waterloo
