This annual report (my first was made in 1973) marks a departure in style and format. Rather than the usual series of reports arranged by library administrative units, I am providing an overview of significant events of the past year.
The staff of the Library is its greatest resource and I gratefully acknowledge the contribution made by every one of them during the past year. To those of our clients who have offered their comments, criticism, advice, and encouragement, I extend my thanks and appreciation for the interest you have expressed in YOUR library.
