LIBRARY SYSTEMS UW/ISM SHARED SYSTEMS

Discussions with ISM on the development of shared library systems included:

The first project was abandoned when it failed to meet the stipulated operational standards and costs; the other two are still under investigation.

During the past year the Library significantly improved and expanded its contribution to UWINFO:

An enhanced Library "area" appeared in the summer of 1993 and during the year resources and services were expanded
Library staff investigated the World Wide Web application and developed an implementation plan for a Library-based WWW server which includes training, technical support, design, and participation from a wide range of library staff
In response to the recommendation of the 1990 Library Review, student representatives were invited to participate in the development of the application
