Endowment Funds

Truly the gift that keeps on giving, an endowment may be set up to develop and strengthen a specific collection, for general library support, or to provide funding for a specific project. A named endowment can be established for a minimum donation of $10,000. The Library gratefully acknowledges the continuing support from the following endowments:

THE GENERAL LIBRARY ENDOWMENT FUND
a general endowment established by an anonymous donor which has been added to by staff, retirees, and faculty contributions

THE LYLE S. HALLMAN BOOK FUND
· established by Mr. L. S. Hallman for the purchase of library materials for undergraduate Engineering students

THE HELEN HOGG LIBRARY FUND
· established by the late Dr. Helen S. Hogg and administered by the Waterloo Science Foundation to provide support for science materials

THE P. F. KARROW ENDOWMENT
· established by Dr. Paul Karrow to support the annual subscription costs of various earth sciences and engineering journals

THE SIMS FAMILY LIBRARY FUND
· established by the Sims family to ensure that there remains long-term support for library acquisitions

Book Funds

Book Funds help to build specific collections. The following funds have been established and supported by individuals/groups:

· established by friends and colleagues of the late William Dendy

· established in memory of the late Doris Lewis, the University of Waterloo's first librarian

FRED AND MINNIE MAINES COLLECTION
· core collection donated and development supported by Mrs. Colleen Gildner

HEIDI RICHTER MEMORIAL FUND
· established in memory of Heidi Richter to purchase library resources in support of the Jewish Studies Program
