New Spaces

"The Musagetes Library is an architectural treasure with its simple comfort, open spaces, wonderful light, and spectacular views of the Grand River and old Galt." Rick Haldenby, Director, UW School of Architecture

RBC Information Commons

The RBC Information Commons is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with multi-media workstations and an extensive suite of software and research tools offering students an enriched e-learning environment. Several of the initial designs for the RBC Information Commons were created by students enrolled in Systems Design 348. "Seldom do students get to carry their vision of a university space from a class project to its actual planning and construction. This opportunity has given me great satisfaction knowing that the project I was working on meant more than just a grade in a course." - Areta Lok, UW Alumna

"The Musagetes Library is an architectural treasure with its simple comfort, open spaces, wonderful light, and spectacular views of the Grand River and old Galt." - Rick Haldenby, Director, UW School of Architecture

Peter and Betty’s generous gift reflects their passion and commitment to higher education. On any given day, you can find a number of students and faculty quietly reading in this popular study space. Peter and Betty’s outstanding friendship and support of the Library is commemorated on a plaque installed inside the reading room.

Peter Sims Silent Study

A $150,000 donation from The Economical Insurance Group in honour of their retiring chairman was used to create the Peter Sims Silent Study. Equipped with new study carrels, chairs, and ambient lighting, the study space is ideal for students looking for increased privacy and minimal visual distractions. Students are thrilled with the improved study space–the new cubicles are large enough to accommodate their books, laptops, and other research materials.
