Welcome. I am pleased to present this issue of Library Update in which we highlight the Library’s role in research here at Waterloo. On a daily basis library staff connect with students, faculty, and the broader research community to assist their efforts in the creation of new knowledge. Our key objective is to get the right information into the right hands at the right time.
In this issue, you will meet some of the faculty, students, and staff whose research we support. You will also be introduced to some of our own valued supporters – the people, consortiums, and corporations that make our work possible.
Features include a spotlight on our involvement with the Canadian Research Knowledge Network, an article highlighting our key partnership with IBM and the World Community Grid, and a look at the work one of our own librarians is conducting on using video games to teach research skills.
The Library aims to provide researchers with a rich array of resources and services that are responsive to their needs. In doing so, we strive to be as innovative as the research we support.
