Involvement in the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has enabled the Library to
provide students with access to an additional $47 million in digital resources in the humanities
and social sciences this year.
Theatre in Video is one of the many new resources acquired through CRKN that has proven to
be immediately valuable, providing students with desktop access to over 250 streaming video
recordings of the world’s most important plays.
“Theatre in Video provides easy access to important plays which students might never encounter
in performance otherwise and facilitates close stop-and-go scrutiny for what is an extremely
ephemeral art form. It allows students to appreciate how performance styles have changed over
the years and, in the process, hone their skills as both theatre artists and theatre scholars.”
