“The Library is no longer a place reserved for
just bookworms,” says Health Studies student,
Gabriella Joo. And she should know. Currently
in her final year of study, Gabriella has worked
part time in the Library for the duration of her
studies, describing it as the spot where all
aspects of her student life converge.
Gabriella’s position at the Library has
meant more than just a regular pay cheque.
With flexible hours and a motivating work
environment, it has also provided her with the
opportunity to strengthen her public speaking
and leadership skills through involvement in
the Library’s outreach initiatives.
Gabriella has become a student spokesperson
at campus-wide events such as Student
Life 101, Spring Break, and start-of-term
orientations, introducing current, new,
and prospective students to the Library
and its services.
Always eager to share her knowledge of the
Library, Gabriella has been described as the
student “with a smile for everyone.”
