Students Supporting Students

Students are tremendous supporters of the Library. They make up its largest user group and
contribute significantly through donations made on behalf of student organizations. Recent
endowments from the following student societies have enabled the Library to purchase
essential resources and other materials for student use.
- THE ARTS ENDOWMENT FUND
awarded $13,099.97 to equip the Dana Porter
Library with 10 new study carrels and chairs.
- THE FACULTY OF SCIENCE FOUNDATION (FSF)
awarded $5,000 to
purchase new chairs for student use in the Davis
Centre Library.
- THE MATHEMATICS ENDOWMENT FUND
donated $20,790 for the purchase of
study carrels and chairs for the Davis Centre Library.
- THE WATERLOO ENGINEERING ENDOWMENT FUND (WEEF)
$3,000 to assist with the purchase of first-year
engineering textbooks to be held on reserve at
the Davis Centre Library and $3,769 to support
the purchase of the key e-resource, Knovel
Engineering Collection.
- THE STUDENT LIFE ENDOWMENT FUND
provided $11,249.93 to support projects
promoting accessibility for students and to equip
both the Davis and Porter libraries with new chairs
for student use.
“The greatness of our
University is very much
dependent upon each
and every student
being able to utilize the
continued support of
the libraries. They are a
luxury and a necessity
for our success.”
