This issue provides a glimpse of the Library as we move forward. In it you will read
about two new books by Waterloo librarians, the Library’s engagement in the Association of Research Libraries’ e-Science Institute, and many other initiatives
currently underway that are shaping future directions. You will learn about our new
frontiers for supporting research and student learning at Waterloo and meet some
of those leading the change.
In the fall of 2011 we initiated a strategic Library Review. Coinciding with the University’s Mid-Cycle Review of its Sixth Decade Plan, we are taking this opportunity to refocus our vision and to seize opportunities in support of the University’s strategic priorities.
As the University and the external environment continue to evolve, the Library is moving at an accelerated pace to plan for the future. We are poised to meet the many challenges we face.
We will continue to be collaborative, bold, and engaged with our user community.
