Moving Forward with a Library Review

In the five years since Waterloo's Sixth Decade Plan was introduced, the Library has made significant advances in three broad strategic areas: e-initiatives, enriching the student experience, and repurposing of Library space.

The Library’s accomplishments in these areas have included the introduction of new search tools to optimize student and faculty research, the expansion of student-centred instruction and outreach, and dramatic improvements to the Library’s physical spaces through projects such as the main floor renovation of the Dana Porter Library.

In the fall of 2011 we started a Library Review to address all areas of the Library in the context of the evolving environment and the University’s strategic priorities. The review includes self-studies, an examination of our strategic directions, and an external review.

Throughout the process, we will build on the Library’s strengths, be forward-looking, and engage with staff, users, and key stakeholders. We invite you to share your feedback to help shape the Library’s future.
