Pascal joined the Library in July 2011, arriving from the University Libraries of Notre Dame where he was the Head of Library Information Systems.
Library Update: What does the Library’s future hold with respect to digital
technologies and services?
Pascal: Our users can expect a variety of new developments in coming years. A new website with a new content management system, increased stewardship of the electronic literature produced on campus, a digital preservation strategy, and an emphasis on mobile technologies are just several of the things on our radar.
Library Update: How do you envision that users’ research experience will change?
Pascal: Faculty and students are so busy these days. We need to respond by providing them with access to research materials wherever they happen to be. We are introducing new services that address some of the major barriers our users experience. The goal is to make the research process more intuitive for our undergraduate students and to broaden the research of seasoned faculty and graduate students in their disciplines.
Since joining the Library, Pascal has been providing leadership for the Library’s digital and discovery services and is actively involved in the Library’s current strategic review process.
