Annie has a diverse background in academic, special and public libraries. With extensive experience in management, web development, information architecture, marketing, and provision of service to students with disabilities, Annie is always keen to lead a range of projects in the Library that make use of her specialized skills. Most recently, at uWaterloo, she chairs the Web team, was the project lead for Library User Needs Assessment and was involved in the campus web redesign as the information architect.
Pascal has 16 years working in systems librarianship in academic and medical libraries in the US and Canada, with an MLIS from McGill University. He is interested these days in change management and leadership, library technology collaboration that advances user needs, and mentoring and advising library colleagues in their careers.
I have been a liaison librarian and project leader at UW since 1992. I view librarians as partners with faculty especially with respect to information literacy and student learning. I have presented papers and posters at conferences– practical issues, thought pieces and results of my research. I’ve worked on committees for several library organizations and faculty association. I’ve progressed through the librarian promotion system and I’m finishing my 3rd study leave. I’m happy to discuss any aspect of academic librarianship.
Alison is also a Lecturer at the Faculty of Information and Media Studies, University of Western Ontario. She has worked as a cataloguer for the Resource Library for the Environment and the Law in Toronto, for ISM Library Technical Services (now OCLC Canada) in Winnipeg, and as the Manager of the Cataloguing Department at Library Services Centre in Kitchener. Alison co-published a peer-reviewed paper with Ellen Symons “Preparing catalogers for RDA training” and is actively involved in preparing Canadian librarians for RDA. Alison is the project lead for the Primo Implementation Team at TUG and sits on ELUNA’s Primo Product Working Group.
I have served as a uWaterloo liaison librarian for 20 years (with a 2-year hiatus as acting manager of interlibrary loan). Changes in scholarly communication are a special interest for me, particularly the open access movement and the growth of digital repositories. I have facilitated the Etheses project and have presented and published on the topic of Etheses.
