The Geospatial Centre houses more than 200 satellite images (prints and film), satellite posters and air photo posters. There are also over 800 slides of satellite images covering Canada plus, 20 views of the world. The primary geographical focus of this collection is Canada but many other geographical areas are represented.
The satellite images (prints, film, slides) may be borrowed by graduate students and faculty for 3 days; however, the reference collection is for use in the library only.
The majority of the satellite posters and air photo posters are housed in the Geospatial Centre Office. Most of the posters may be borrowed by students, staff and faculty for 2 weeks with one renewal, however, the reference collection is for use in the library only. Non-circulating materials may be borrowed for up to 3 hours for the purpose of copying (subject to the Library's photocopying guidelines). For assistance with this collection, please ask at the Public Services Desk (Mon.-Fri. 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
The remote sensing list is arranged alphabetically by continent, country name, Canadian province, or U.S state. City and region images are listed alphabetically under the appropriate country, province, or state heading.
