The Geospatial Centre collects a variety of geospatial data to suit the teaching and research needs of faculty, staff and students. Our collection is particularly focused on southern Ontario, however the Geospatial Centre also collects data at the national, US and world levels.
The Geospatial Centre now has a subscription to SimplyMap Canada . This mapping application provides statistical geospatial data for all of Canada. Once you create your own account, it's free to students, faculty and staff within the UW community.
Our collection of Geospatial Data resources (both vector and image data) are arranged by geographic location. Most datasets from the Geospatial Centre can be accessed in person during reference hours. These data are provided for personal use for academic, research, and/or teaching purposes. Library staff will ask patrons to read and sign a data release agreement before these licensed data can be released. Other datasets, such as those that are available from external sources have also been included in the collection of links below.
The Geospatial Centre has created a searchable interactive map of municipal open data websites across Canada.
For interactive online maps please see our list of resources available at the Maps/Atlases Online webpage.
