November 23, 2004, the UW Library officially opened the RBC Information
Commons located in the recently renovated Davis Centre Library. With the
aid of a $1 million donation from RBC Financial Group,
the University of Waterloo is able to provide its community with the needed
equipment and technology to promote an enriched e-learning environment. [full

Recently, the UW Library and the Faculty of Arts jointly received a grant worth $50,000 from the J. W. Graham Information Technology Trust Fund. This grant will help fund a cross-disciplinary research project that aims to understand the process and development of technology transfer. RefWorks is a personal bibliographic software manager that is free of charge for all UW students, faculty, and staff. RefWorks makes managing bibliographic references easy and efficient since users can either input citations manually or export citations directly from a number of the research databases available from the UW Library.
