Behind the Scenes at the Library

Sometimes we take for granted the people that provide the essential services that make the UW Library a great place for study and research: Sheila Kielbasa provides one of these services.

Twice a week, Sheila routinely checks all library study carrels to ensure that the attached lights are working properly. Sheila's supervisor, Eric Boyd, states that "with over 1,000 carrels scattered throughout UW's library system, functioning carrel lighting is very important to our students. Testing and replacing these lights is a time consuming and laborious responsibility that Sheila finds both enjoyable and rewarding." Additionally, Sheila mentioned that she enjoys her work at the Library because the staff here are "really nice." Sheila's hard work and enthusiasm makes her one of the Library's valued employees.

Sheila has worked in various capacities at UW for approximately 15 years. She began working for the Library in January 2005. When Sheila is not working at the Library, she works at UW's Distance and Continuing Education Office (located on Gage Street in Kitchener) as an Examinations Clerk.
