BioMed Central (BMC)

BioMed Central (BMC) is an independent open-access publisher providing a portal to over 130 peer-reviewed journals, several research databases, and other products related to biomedical research. UW Faculty and students may publish any number of articles in BioMed Central journals without paying article processing fees. All manuscripts submitted to BMC receive prompt and thorough feedback from participating peer reviewers. Through our membership with BMC, UW actively supports your research and open-access scholarly publishing.

BMC offers quick, advanced, and boolean search options, in addition to alphabetical menus indexing their journals and subject areas. Article citations and references can be directly imported to several bibliographic citation management systems, including RefWorks. A number of topic-specific gateways are also provided that link directly to collections of research information.
