If you frequent the Davis Centre Library, chances are you have seen Library Associate, Sasa Mrsa, working at the Information Desk.
Originally from Croatia, Sasa joined the Information Services and Resources Department at the Davis Library last winter. In addition to providing service at the Information Desk, he is responsible for a variety of projects, including the analysis of the serials and reference materials held at the Davis Library.
Sasa’s background lends significantly to his current role at the Library. Having obtained a BA in Croatian Literature and Language, plus a Master of Library and Information Science, Sasa began his career as a long-time employee of the City Library (“Juraj Sizgoric”) in Sibenik, Croatia. Sasa has published several library and literature-related articles in Croatian-based journals and magazines. His most recent journal article, “Sibenik in the poems of Andrija Kacic Miosic,” will soon be published both in the Croatian journal, KACIC, and the Journal of Croatian Studies.
Additionally, Sasa is currently employed as an instructor for Croatian language and literature at the elementary and secondary school level with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB), and is a member of the The Croatian Academy of America, Toronto Chapter.
