Introducing Nancy Collins

Nancy Collins

Communications and Liaison Librarian
Ext. 32446

Greetings! I’m pleased to introduce myself as the Library’s new Communications and Liaison Librarian – and also as the new voice behind news @ your library.

In this newly-created position, my focus is on developing and managing communication strategies for the Library's key constituencies. This involves promoting the Library's services and resources through outreach initiatives and various publications (like this one). I’m also a part of the Dana Porter’s Information Resources & Services Team and devote a significant portion of my time to public service, including liaising with faculty and students and providing research assistance and instruction.

I arrive at UW from the University of Alberta where I worked as a Public Services Librarian after completing my Master of Information Studies degree at the University of Toronto. I’m also a UW graduate and completed my BA here in English, Rhetoric, and Professional Writing.

It’s exciting to be back at UW – and even more exciting to be back at the Library.

Please let me know if you have suggestions for this newsletter, including ideas for things you would like to see featured. Have a wonderful fall term.
