Engineering e-resources got a boost recently with the addition of Knovel’s Engineering Collection, the Library’s newest online resource of 572 titles including interactive engineering books and databases.
Purchased through a generous gift by Dr. Savvas Chamberlain, the Knovel Engineering Collection is part of the SciTech e-books collection and includes electronic textbooks, reference books, and a variety of handbooks, such as the Springer Nanotechnology Handbook, Mechanical Engineer’s Handbook and Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook.
Apart from the traditional e-book features of search and browse, Knovel is a workflow and productivity tool. Unique interactive features allow you to search for text as well as data and then analyse results with desktop tools that integrate easily into your workflow. Knovel enables you to customize tables into spreadsheets, digitize graphs, plot equations, view phase diagrams, export data, and more.
The Knovel Engineering Collection is available under Research Databases on the Library’s website, and is also listed on each Subject Guide for Engineering.
A sample book is available for anyone interested in learning more about how Knovel works.
