As the fall semester draws to a close and exam cramming season begins, there are few things more coveted than a study carrel in the Davis Centre Library. Now, thanks to a generous donation from the student Math Endowment Fund (MEF) the Davis Library will soon be equipped with an additional 10 carrels and chairs for student use. Last month library staff members were recognized with 9 awards in UW’s annual Special Recognition Award Program for University Support Staff. The Library has recently initiated a trial of PressDisplay, a resource that provides instant access to over 500 newspapers, from 70 countries, in 37 languages. Last month the Library announced its acquisition of the Knovel Engineering Collection. Now, thanks to a gift from the Waterloo Engineering Endowment Fund (WEEF), the Library has expanded its access to include Knovel's Chemical Engineering resources.
