CSA Subscription Online

Looking for standards published by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA)? The Library recently acquired a subscription to CSA Subscription Online, a full-text database which includes the complete content of CSA’s current standards, including older standards superseded or withdrawn since about 1990.

The CSA standards are industry and government specifications that ensure coherence among many industry players. According to librarian, Douglas Morton, the standards ensure “that light bulbs from one manufacturer will fit into bases made by another company, that tests done according to the standard will get the same results no matter which laboratory does it, or that a bridge railing will be high enough that pedestrians should not fall over it” to mention only a few examples.

The standards are available and searchable in both English and French with updates automatically included.

To access and view CSA Subscription Online, you will need to install an Adobe Reader plugin.
