Cripes, It's Skype!

SkypeIf you haven't tried the Library's Skype a Librarian service yet, what are you waiting for?

You can now reach a librarian over Skype Monday to Friday from 12 – 4 pm in addition to the Library’s current instant messaging (IM) service for MSN, Google Talk, AIM, and Yahoo! Messenger.

Skype is an IM program that enables voice-over IP. Librarians using Skype also have a Unyte plug-in, a program that allows them to screenshare. So not only can you talk and IM with a librarian, you can view what they’re searching, when they’re searching it.

For non-Skype users interested in giving this service a try, Skype is free to download on the Skype website.
