Knowledge. Ideas. Inspiration. Good things are always growing at the Library. The latest thing to spring up is our new poster and bookmark campaign for 2008-09, featuring Environmental Studies (ES) graduate students, Lindsay Poulin and Matthew Lee.
This year's campaign touts the slogan "grow @ your library" and is the second in a series to focus on the academic disciplines at UW, with the attention turning this year to ES.
Lindsay and Matthew are thrilled to be the Library's fresh faces for 2008-09. As both are first-year grad students (Lindsay in Geography and Matthew in Planning), these two are quickly becoming familiar with the Library and conducting research.
When it comes to studying in the Library, Lindsay and Matthew name the Porter Library as their top study space. As Matthew puts it, Porter is "the best place for some quiet study." Lindsay has even narrowed down the 6th floor of Porter as her spot for "less distractions" and "peace and quiet."
Lindsay and Matthew visit the Library frequently to study and pick up books, but when researching, both conduct most of theirs online. Lindsay uses the Library website to access journal articles and to connect with librarians for help. Likewise, Matthew describes the Library's website as "a great portal for searching relevant print and electronic resources."
Next time you are in the Library, check for their smiling faces on our posters and bookmarks. Both Lindsay and Matthew are proud to be a part of the campaign, with Lindsay being excited about the Library & ES connection and Matthew joking about enjoying his "new found stardom." All kidding aside, many thanks go out to both Lindsay and Matthew for their involvement in this year's campaign!
