Since starting on contract at the Musagetes Architecture Library in January 2007, Sara Perkins has been a lively addition to this satellite location. Now the Library is pleased to welcome Sara to a permanent Library Associate position.
Ext. 27648 |
In this new position, Sara will be providing reference, circulation, and GIS services, as well as supervising staff. She will also continue with the exciting initiatives she has become known for around Musagetes, including her displays, and most notably, the Library’s blog, which she uses “to highlight the Library’s resources and services and to muse about current events and other art and architecture topics.”
When asked about what she is looking forward to in this position, Sara answers that she would like to make the Musagetes Library “the place for a generation of students” by helping to transform the Library “from a tomb of quiet study into a social centre of the architecture school community.”
Before arriving at Musagetes Sara worked in cataloguing at McMaster University and in circulation at Lakehead University while completing her English degree.
When not working, Sara’s creative flair extends well into her leisure activities, with interests spanning from creating fabric art, to freelance writing and editing, to collecting vintage costume jewellery and kitchy old cookbooks.
