StumbleUpon

Have you tried StumbleUpon yet? The downloadable StumbleUpon toolbar is a fun and interesting way to find new websites, videos, and photos that are tailored to your interests.

StumbleUpon logoHere is how StumbleUpon works. After installing it, you will notice a “Stumble” icon Stumble icon on your browser’s toolbar. Every time you click it, it takes you to pages on whatever interests you specify when signing up. For example, if you are interested in photography, whenever you click “Stumble” you will discover photography pages that have been recommended by other StumbleUpon users.

With each Stumble you can rate each page you see (either giving it a thumbs up thumbs up or thumbs down Thumbs down). StumbleUpon then uses your feedback to further customize your Stumbles – meaning that, the more you Stumble, the better your Stumbles get – a phenomenon described by its developers as the “Golden Rule of Stumbling.”

Now that StumbleUpon has over 5 million members, it is becoming a rich tool for finding high quality sites on your interests – making it much more effective than simple Google searches. Just be warned: It’s a little addictive.
