Adel Sedra was joined by University Librarian, Mark Haslett, and Head of Special Collections, Susan Mavor, as he signed and donated the millionth copy of his textbook Microelectronic Circuits.

Sedra’s book, co-authored with Kenneth C. Smith from the University of Toronto, is the world’s best-selling engineering textbook and is considered to be the most current resource for teaching tomorrow’s electrical and computer engineers how to analyze and design electronic circuits.

“Today, eight out of 10 students worldwide use this book to learn microelectronic circuits,” says John Challice, Vice President and Publisher, Higher Education, Oxford University Press. Since first appearing in 1982, the textbook has been translated into nine languages and is used in hundreds of universities around the world.

Sedra was also the keynote speaker at the Library’s yearly Authors Event in 2006 where he gave a talk Universities from the Bottom Up: Personal Reflections of a Lifer.

The Library congratulates Sedra on this outstanding accomplishment.

For more information on Sedra’s achievement, see the UW press release.
