Fancy an e-book? How about over 20,000 of them, available whenever you need them? It has been over six months now since the Library acquired the Springer eBooks collection and usage continues to rise steadily.
The collection, which continues to grow by approximately 3,300 books annually, integrates books, book series, textbooks, and reference works from 2005 on. The eBooks are organized into 13 subject collections:
The largest subject coverage is in engineering, computer science, math, and the sciences. Of general interest is the "Professional and Applied Computing" collection that contains useful reference material on common computer programs and topics.
The collection is accessible through SpringerLink, a platform designed with facets to make it easy to browse the collection by subject, publishing date, author, and "SpringerLink date" (the date that items are added to the collection).
The Springer item records are also added to TRELLIS, so they are discoverable in catalogue searches. (Hint: If looking for specific books in this collection when searching TRELLIS, use the keyword "springerlink").
