It's time to express why YOU think information sharing is important. The 2008 Sparky Awards contest Mind Mashup promotes the open exchange of information and is now open and accepting entries.
To enter the contest, create a short video illustrating why you think the free exchange of information is important. The winning video will be awarded $1,000 with two runners-up prizes of $500.
If you are not sure where to start, suggested themes include access to research, new opportunities, information equity, and knowledge as a public good.
The Sparky Awards website contains specific information for students, educators, and librarians, and also includes links to last year's winners.
The Sparky Awards are organized by SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition. SPARC promotes the universal benefits of sharing ideas of all kinds.
See the Sparky Awards website for full contest details.
