Library Month and Open Access Day

October is a busy month for libraries. It is the Canadian Library Association’s (CLA) Library Month, as well as the month of the first ever Open Access Day coordinated by SPARC, Students for FreeCulture, and the Public Library of Science.

Library MonthCheck out the CLA’s Library Month site for resources and national event listings to raise public awareness of the valuable role that libraries play in the lives of Canadians.

Open Access DayVisit the Open Access site to find out what’s happening worldwide to celebrate October 14 as Open Access Day.

Remember too, that the UW Library is having its own separate Library Day celebrations on October 28 at the Dana Porter Library, to celebrate the role of the Library within the university. We hope to see you there.
