Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science is one of the latest additions to the engineering and computer science e-resources. It provides access to numerous 50-100 page syntheses of important research and development topics in the fields of engineering and computer science, written by experts in the field.
The collection's works are called "lectures" and aim to offer readers an entry point into a topic, giving greater synthesis, analysis, and depth than other research journal articles.
Synthesis is organized by series, each one managed by a leading consulting editor and containing often numerous lectures. There are currently 35 series of topics that include Algorithms in Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Graphics and Animation, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Quantum Computing, and many more.
Since quite new, some series are still in development, but they are being updated as lectures become available. Eventually, Synthesis is looking to provide in depth coverage across all the disciplines to "create one of the largest and most complete compilations of knowledge in engineering and computer science."
