The Library welcomes Kathy Szigeti to the Davis Centre Library as Liaison Librarian for Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Sciences.
As the newest Librarian to join Davis' Information Services and Resources Department, Kathy provides support for her academic departments, is involved in significant project and committee work, and provides assistance on the Information Desk.
"I'm thrilled to be here," Kathy explains. Her current projects include updating the collection development policy for Earth & Environmental Sciences, which has expanded to include research interests in atmospheric science, and planning promotions for the final part of the International Year of Planet Earth.
Kathy arrives at the Library from Temple University, where she spent four years as a Science Librarian with subject responsibilities in Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science. Prior to this, she held positions as a Library Intern and Library Fellow at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Eskind Biomedical Library.
Kathy earned her Master of Library Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed her undergraduate studies in Computer Science at Brock University.
When not working, she enjoys Tai-chi, cooking, and ice-skating. "I live beside a park that has an outdoor rink—it couldn’t get any better."
