As described in the Introduction to the Seagram Museum Collection, Special Collections acquired the formidable Seagram collection in 1997 when the Seagram Museum officially closed.
The Department's intention is to serve as a reference library to those writing and researching in the field of the beverage alcohol industry, as well as to continue the Seagram Museum's desire "to tell the story of the Seagram company (the world's largest producer and marketer of spirits and wines), the distilling industry, and associated industries such as glass making, cooperage (barrel making) and advertising."
