Griffin Poetry Picks

Go on, give in. Indulge in a little poetry this spring term! If you are looking for an easy place to start, why not try a Griffin poetry prize contender?

Griffin Poetry PrizeOne of the Library’s poetry lovers has tagged all of the finalists for the prestigious Griffin poetry prize in the Library’s new search tool, Primo.

For those of you who don’t know, the Griffin Poetry Prize is awarded annually for the two best books of poetry published in the previous year in the English language (including translations).

A prize of $100,000 is divided between two winners, with $50,000 going to the author of the best book of Canadian poetry and $50,000 going to the author of the best book of international poetry.

This year’s finalists were chosen back in April and the winners will be selected in June.

P.S. It’s worth noting that all of this year’s Canadian works are from small presses!
