Interested in working, studying, or volunteering abroad? University of Waterloo students, faculty, and staff now have access to the Big Guide to Living and Working Overseas, an online guide for building global career skills.

Adapted from the popular print book by the same name, the Big Guide Online is divided into five sections that correspond to the five phases for building international career skills:
Expanding on the print volume, the Big Guide Online is an interactive website that includes a powerful "My Guide” section where you can set up a “My Learning Path” profile based on your global career goals.

When utilized, this "My Learning Path" feature brings you all the relevant learning resources for the interests you specify (see above) and also lets you create bookmarks, notes, and an inventory of your international skills based on quizzes you perform.
Additional features of the Big Guide Online include quick links to volunteer opportunities, international job boards, and country guides.
To access the guide, you need to sign up for an account by providing your Waterloo email address. You will be emailed an activation link to get started.
The Big Guide Online subscription is jointly funded by the Library, Career Services, and Waterloo International.
