In this position, Mary Lynne coordinates hiring, scheduling, and training for Circulation’s casual employees. She also supervises the evening and weekend supervisors at the Dana Porter and Davis Centre Libraries and coordinates extended hours procedures for both locations.

Prior to arriving at the Library, Mary Lynne worked as an Operations Assistant at the Waterloo Store, and prior to this, as a contract Operations Coordinator at the Book Store.

“The Library and Retail Services are very similar in that there is a main focus on customer interaction and customer service,” Mary Lynne explains. “Both environments are very busy and the job is never stagnant. Something is always changing.”

Mary Lynne has a BA from the University of Waterloo in Recreation and Leisure Studies with an option in Tourism and Therapeutic Recreation, as well as a post graduate diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management Systems from Niagara College.

Outside of work, Mary Lynne is a busy concert-goer. “Last summer I went to 12 concerts – some of which were Bloc Party, Coldplay, U2, City and Colour, and Jay-Z.” This summer Mary Lynne is also a bridesmaid for two weddings, so she’s expecting to be even busier over the next few months.
