The Library welcomes Rebecca Hutchinson to the Information Services and Resources (ISR) Department at the Dana Porter Library.

Rebecca joins the ISR team for an eight-month co-op work term as part of her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree she is currently completing at the University of Western Ontario.
Since starting in May, Rebecca has been busy partaking in departmental training, assisting students and other visitors at the Reference Desk, providing computer technical support once a week for students, and working on an assessment project as part of the Library’s Instruction Committee.
“So far I love the range of experience I’m gaining. I am really liking the reference desk and enjoy the interaction with patrons,” Rebecca explains.
Over the coming months, Rebecca will be assisting with library workshops and with an information architecture analysis of the Library’s website.
In addition to her experience at the Dana Porter Library, Rebecca also has experience working in public libraries and is currently working part time at the Region of Waterloo Library’s Elmira branch.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time at the cottage and with friends. She was recently the maid of honour at her best friend’s wedding – an experience she describes as the highlight of her summer.
